After graduating from High School, I attended Northland Community College in Thief River Falls, MN. Upon graduation, I received an Associate of Arts Degree in Law Enforcement. While attending Northland, I was elected Vice President of the college Law Enforcement Organization. My second year at Northland, I served as President of the Law Enforcement Organization.

After graduating from Northland Community College, I transferred to the University of North Dakota where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Psychology. After graduating from the University of North Dakota, I attended the Range Technical College in Hibbing, MN where I received my mandated skills training.

In 1996, I was hired by the Buffalo Police Department as a Patrol Officer. I was hired by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office in 1997 as a Deputy Sheriff.

In 2014, I attended the 71st session of the Supervisor Leadership Institute through the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.

In 2015, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. This ten-week course offered through the FBI was established to secure a strong bond between the FBI and local law enforcement and to develop the next generation of Law Enforcement Executives. I graduated from the 261st Session of the National Academy in 2015, and to this day have enumerable resources from around the world at my fingertips.
