After graduating from High School, I attended Northland Community College in Thief River Falls, MN. Upon graduation, I received an Associate of Arts Degree in Law Enforcement. While attending Northland, I was elected Vice President of the college Law Enforcement Organization. My second year at Northland, I served as President of the Law Enforcement Organization.
After graduating from Northland Community College, I transferred to the University of North Dakota where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Psychology. After graduating from the University of North Dakota, I attended the Range Technical College in Hibbing, MN where I received my mandated skills training.
In 1996, I was hired by the Buffalo Police Department as a Patrol Officer. I was hired by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office in 1997 as a Deputy Sheriff.
In 2014, I attended the 71st session of the Supervisor Leadership Institute through the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.
In 2015, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. This ten-week course offered through the FBI was established to secure a strong bond between the FBI and local law enforcement and to develop the next generation of Law Enforcement Executives. I graduated from the 261st Session of the National Academy in 2015, and to this day have enumerable resources from around the world at my fingertips.

10/27/2008 Heart Saver Award from Heart Safe Communities for assisting in the life saving efforts of a heart attack victim.
5/13/2009 Award of Valor from the WCSO for displaying valor in going up against an armed suspect, as well as professionalism and caring in switching to rescue mode and providing medical care to that suspect.
In 2016, Mentor of the Year Award for 2015 from the United Legacy Search and Rescue Non-Profit.
I have enjoyed and appreciated every opportunity afforded to me. I have always had a desire to serve others and have loved meeting with and working with the great people that make up our community.
